Preview subtitles?

Post by bitfidelity » Sun Aug 11, 2013 9:42 pm

Would it be possible to have an option to preview subtitles in a future version, or is that technically impossible?

There's a lot that can be done technically, but my guess is, Mike has other priorities when people can preview the subs in any media player already.
MultiMakeMKV: MakeMKV batch processing (Win)
MultiShrink: DVD Shrink batch processing
Offizieller Uebersetzer von DVD Shrink deutsch

Thanks for confirming this. But is there an alternate way of doing this? I mean the closest as it can get to previewing subtitles?

+1 for bdsup2sub. If I'm not sure which subtitles I need then I rip them all, extract them all in one command with eac3to and then load them into bdsup2sub to work out which ones I did/didn't need. Then I can go back to MakeMKV if I still have it open and deselect the ones I don't want and rip again, or reprocess the file through mkvtoolnix or MakeMKV to remove the unnecessary subs.

It sounds like a lot of hassle but I've got it down to a pretty efficient workflow now.
