Hi again,
this one also will not read in my
Pioneer BDR-UD04 (Blu-ray-Writer).
- Firmware: 1.14
- Plattform: RS8A10
- Anschluss: USB (extern)
same error: "AACS-VID kann nicht gelesen werden - höchstwahrscheinlich wird das AACS-Hostzertifikat durch Ihr Laufwerk aufgehoben
The AACS dump file "E:/temp mkv/MKB20_v76_Spider-Man-_No_Way_Home_BA7D.tgz" was successfully sent for analysis
LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
Das Öffnen der Disk schlug fehl
Thx for help

I see you have a Pioneer BDR-UD04 but what do you actually have? Is it a Verbatim 43888? They are known to be a bit power hungry so it might be a power issue. Ensure you are using a USB (USB-C if possible) port direct from the motherboard (not case ports) or an AC self-powered USB hub of at least 24w. The latter is often true for laptops since they often don't provide enough constant power for an optical drive.remuxer_ger wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2026 8:02 pm Hi again,

Can you copy and paste the full Drive Info and Libredrive Info sections from MakeMKV.

Re: Spider-Man - No way home UHD - can't be read
Yes, it's a Verbatim 43888.
It comes with a USB C 3.2 (in the Drive) to USB A 3.2 Cabel.
I will change the original Cabel to a USB C 3.2 to USB C 3.2 Cabel and connect it to the USB C Case Port - unfortunately, this did not bring any success either.
Next I connected the cable directly to the motherboard rear. USB-C should actually deliver 5 V / 3 A.
But according to the specifications of my motherboard (MSI MPG Z790 Carbon WiFi), the USB-A and USB C 3.2 port only delivers 5 V / 0.9 A via the motherboard cable to the front case port and to the rear ports of the Mainboard.
Unfortunately, the manual does not document the maximum current or USB PD performance for the internal connection. So it can only be assumed that on the rear side of the Mainboard the USB A and C port delivers only 5 V / 0,9 A. At least I bypass the additional cabling with the thin/poor quality wiring to the USB front case.

Do not use case ports!! Most of the time, case manufacturers use thin/poor quality wiring for the USB ports that is not good enough to provide sufficient constant power for an optical drive. Case ports are fine for thumb drives etc but not for optical drives. Use either a port direct from the motherboard or an AC self-powered USB hub of at least 24w. Also, the Verbatim enclosures are known to be quite power hungry.remuxer_ger wrote: Thu Oct 29, 2026 10:13 am Yes, it's a Verbatim 43888.

To the USB C port of the case but 5 V / and up to 3 A. That could be the cause.

remuxer_ger, which rear port did you end up using, a USB 3.2 one or one of the older 2.0 ones? Also, did the drive read it first go or did it take a few goes to spin up (just curious, my old external did that)...

The RED USB-A port is generally 3.2gwhitcombe71 wrote: Thu Oct 29, 2026 11:10 pm remuxer_ger, which rear port did you end up using, a USB 3.2 one or one of the older 2.0 ones? Also, did the drive read it first go or did it take a few goes to spin up (just curious, my old external did that)...

Re: Spider-Man - No way home UHD - can't be read
All of the rear USB A Ports are 3.2 but with different speeds (see my picture).
MSI documents that the rear USB ports are partly connected directly and partly additionally via an internal USB hub. Unfortunately, which one exactly is not mentioned. Therefore, I checked the assignment by replugging my Verbatim drive with USBTreeView and was able to determine the following.
In order to get as constant a power supply as possible, an optical drive is best connected to a connector that is connected directly to the motherboard without a hub.
My drive is now connected to one of the green marked direct connectors and runs without errors. See my picture.

Your best bet is to post the picture somewhere on the internet (https://imgur.com for instance) and then post a link here.remuxer_ger wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2026 11:05 am My drive is now connected to one of the marked direct connectors and runs without errors. See my picture.
