DVD was skipped due to navigation error

Post by joseph_maclure » Tue Feb 07, 2023 4:23 pm

Trying to rip a disc and it is giving me the above error.

It was skipping when trying to rip the disc, then even after trying Manual mode it doesn't work either... Tired a backup and it failed also, this is the only disc I've had issues manual mode worked for another disc that was skipping some titles too.

Any suggestions?

I don't think making a backup should be dependent on being able to navigate the structure of the disc. What error did you get when you tried to make a backup? Have you tried gently cleaning the disc?

There are a very few weirdly authored discs that break makemkv. I resorted to ripping one with DVD Decrypter, then converting to mkv somehow.

Back up error is simply 'Failed to Create a back up'

I'll try the other modes and see does this help otherwise I'll try the decrypter.

If they work I'll post an update, thanks :D

Hi all, just to close this out I believe the issue was just with some strange copyright on these two discs.

I bought used discs from a different region and they ripped fine. Thanks for all the suggestions
