As far as I can tell, people have been asking for a video preview functionality within MakeMKV for well over 10 years, and yet there still isn't one. Is it actually difficult to implement?
Given that MakeMKV can integrate with VLC to allow Blu-ray playback, is it a problem for MakeMKV to use VLC as a preview player?
While MakeMKV is in many respects a great app (I've paid for a licence), there's still the significant frustration that even when I only want a specific title, the only practical option is to rip the entire disc - an obviously time-consuming process, especially for Blu-ray - and then go through the resultant MKVs and delete everything I don't want. You can imagine how annoying it is to have to wait for 40GB+ to be ripped when all I wanted was a single title that turns out to be just a few GB.
The alternative would be if VLC had a means of displaying which .m2ts or .mpls file it was playing, but obviously it doesn't.
So is there a specific reason/reasons why such a functionality still hasn't been provided after so long?
Why is there no option to preview any given title before you rip it?

Preview within MakeMKV requires implementing a video player.
You can currently use VLC and some other existing video players via the "integration" feature.
