New PC, now can't see drive

Post by corruption » Thu May 14, 2020 4:24 am

Wooooooooooow. COVID-brain is real!

I'd delete this post, but it's telling me I don't have deletion rights. Turns out I forgot I swapped drives when I built my new PC and put my old PSX-era burner in the external caddy. Inserting a disc into THE CORRECT DRIVE shows the contents as expected.

Feel free to delete!

~~

Last was Intel, this one AMD. Drive is in an external enclosure and has ripped many a UHD.

This was my first time trying to rip a disc on my new PC. I wanted to rip Joker and updated to 1.15.1 before inserting the disc. It couldn't read the disc. I inserted a known working, and previously ripped UHD disc. Nothing. I inserted a Blu-ray that had previously been ripped. Nothing.

I downgraded to 1.14.7. Nothing. I then thought perhaps I should take the plunge and finally install a Libredrive firmware, as MakeMKV was now telling me my drive was compatible with a firmware flash.

Flash said it was successful. Nothing.

I then dug out an old USB 2.0 hub in case this new system's USB 3.1 ports were the problem. Nothing.

I have power cycled the drive countless times.

I humbly present the following debug report--this is all it provides. Help please!

Naw, why delete? I was just going to answer that you might be running into the Windows 10 "anything not from the Windows store is evil and cannot be allowed access to drives" feature, aka "ransomware protection".
