Please use the serach function with "screener". This kind of discs fails in most cases, because they are special (see you message about the file system).

Do these require a DVD player with dedicated firmware to playback, or can they be played in any standard DVD player? Just curious - I thought the only specific protection was use of the region code.

If memory serves me, a screener is an advanced copy of a movie usually sent to vendors before the actual product is released. Back in the old days of VHS, they were used so the retailer could see the product ahead of time, to decide if they wanted to order it. That's how I originally saw Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

Nowadays, the screener is usually a DVD or Blu-ray sent out to specific groups of people like retailers, reviewers and such to get the word out about upcoming releases. It can also be a way to use a large group of people as testers in case something is wrong with the transfer.
