Blind Mode 2.0 Audio track - VLC

Post by RickInHouston » Tue Aug 27, 2019 1:03 pm

I've been ripping for years and this ones new.

The last two bluray discs (Pets 2 and Rocketman) both play the 2.1 audio track with blind narration. There is no other 2.0 English audio track to play. The Eng 5.1 audio track does not have the narration.

Has anyone else experienced this? I use LibreElec to play back my MakeMKV files, so haven't tried it out, yet, but only have a 2.0 setup.

Thoughts?

Which tracks did you select for MakeMKV to extract? The default rules will try to get the highest quality possible, so a 2.1 audio track will be chosen over a 2.0.

This is why I modify the default selection rule to pull all audio and subtitle tracks for each title.

Having this exact issue with RocketMan blu-ray. Tried several setting in MakeMKV and in Handbrake, can't seem to get an audio combo that doesn't have this narrator voice throughout the whole movie. Very annoying. Anyone have ideas?

Have MakeMKV rip all audio tracks (See this topic to find out how).

Find the main movie audio by playing back in VLC, then tell handbrake to use that track when you encode it.
