MakeMKV and DVD-A discs ??

Should MakeMKV be able to rip DVD-A discs? I tried and got the following error:

MakeMKV v1.12.2 darwin(x64-release) started
Optical drive "BD-RE ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.00d" opened in OS access mode.
Using direct disc access mode
Failed to open disc

I use DVD Audio Extractor for DVD-A disks. It's also useful for extracting audio from DVD and Blu-ray backups created by MakeMKV and saving them out as FLAC, or whatever. You get 30 days free trial, so it's probably worth taking a look.
