#1 Post by jam062307 » Wed Aug 12, 2015 9:31 pm

Since I have updated to windows 10 I have had numerous Scsi errors on multiple blu-rays. Can anyone help fix?

Which SCSI errors? Different ones have different causes, but usually they involve the drive simply not being able to read the disk.

Enable debug logging (see FAQ link in my signature) and post the errors here in a reply.

Big Bang Theory S7D2 10 episodes ripped, 2 did not
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00055.m2ts' at offset '613349376'
Quantum of Solace
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00050.m2ts' at offset '1626273792

Other discs have worked since getting these errors. the discs are clean and scratch free, not sure what I can do to fix it.

Yes, I am getting the same exact error (but with a different disk), also with Windows 10.

If anyone can figure it out, it would be well appreciated.

Thanks,

MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR
This means the drive said it can't read part of the disk. This usually is a dirty or scratched disk. Sometimes it's a disk that is manufactured incorrectly. Start by cleaning and/or waxing the disk. If it is new, consider returning it for replacement.

If you see uncorrectable error reports, other errors might follow.
DEBUG: Code 0 at =7aE'iYVX@qJ'A7BtXsq:121262647
The source file '/BDMV/STREAM/00012.m2ts' is corrupt or invalid at offset 61440, attempting to work around
These can also be an indication of a read error. Mike has said that sometimes the drive or operating system will NOT report an error when a read fails, but instead will return "something" approximating what was on the disk. If the data is inconsistent, MakeMKV tries to work around it. If it succeeds, the rip continues. If the work arounds all fail, it fails the rip.

I'm a big fan of using Pledge furniture polish to clean/wax ANY disk that reports a read failure. It's helped un-do lots of abuse by family. Out of several thousand DVD and BD disks in the collection, I've only had 5 disks that were defective when new, and one of them was defective in the replacement set, as well.
