Hello, relatively new to makemkv but have successfully backed up many blu-rays so far. One is giving me trouble, Makemkv "Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive"

Initially thought disk was corrupted so had it replaced, still the same message. Can anyone help me out and explain why this disk can't be read?

That's the key - your drive can't read the disk, even after replacement. Everything else, including the AACS error, cascades from that.

Are the read errors limited to this one title? That is, can you rip other disks?

Other disks are fine, even from the same Stanley Kubrick collection. This is the only one I'm having issues with.

I only have this title on DVD, so I can't say if read errors are common or not.

Tried going to version 1.9.1. Still no luck.

Drive has copied several disks recently (back on V1.9.2), but Barry Lyndon still won't work. Any other thoughts?

Changing MakeMKV versions will not affect whether or not your drive can read the disk. If it has hard errors under 1.9.2, it will have them under 1.9.1 or whatever version you use, until you resolve the hard error.

As shown by Ripman's logs, it isn't an inherent issue with the way the disk is mastered, but it can be a problem with your specific disk, or your drive and that specific disk.

Has the computer been shut down or reset since all of this began? That used to be a silly question even 10 years ago, because no one left a Windows machine running more than a day or two, but... Sometimes, the hardware needs to revert to a known state, and a hard reset (or power down cycle) will do that.
