tried ripping Mononoke last week but kept getting errors. Thought it was because Ghibli is distributed by big D. Then this week I cannot get Wolf of Wall Street to rip for the heck of it.

Thoughts? Ideas? Should I try another BD? Is my drive spent? Is it the KEXT? Is it Make MKV? The Disc itself?

That's the key, there. The drive says it can't read part of the disk.

If it happens on a lot of disks, it may be the drive. If it is only one file on one disk that is failing, it is most likely the disk itself.

In this case, you might be able to Open the disk (rather than back it up), and save the tracks to individual MKV files. The file 00023.m2ts could be something unimportant, and not part of the movie itself.

Badly mastered disks are not unheard of. They may play acceptably in a stand-alone player that is programmed to ignore bad spots, but they fail when you try to get an exact copy of the contents, like you do when you're ripping. Exchanging disks like this is your best option, and hoping you don't get one from the same batch.
