Copy complete. 0 titles saved, 1 failed. - How to Resolve?

#1 Post by ayemac » Thu Feb 02, 2012 12:51 pm

I searched for a solution for this error, and I either found "clean disc" or "old version worked; new version does not." The disc is brand new (I just purchased last week), and this is my first time trying MakeMKV (so older versions don't work w/out registration code).

Therefore...

I can't seem to successfully rip the bluray disc. I open the disc just fine, uncheck all subtitles and foreign languages, and then attempt to save locally. That's when it almost immediately states, "Copy complete. 0 titles saved, 1 failed." Here is the log history. Please advise if there is a viable solution. I'm running Win7 64-bit and have 1.7.1 beta installed. Thanks in advance.

I read the post near to mine and followed the link below (also in that post). I was able to successfully rip it by copying the svq file into the MakeMKV directory. Well done!

@ayemac
Automatic SVQ downloading is disabled or failed.

You should change this setting so downloading SVQs, when required, will be automated...

Good point. That's not something I would've turned off as I just installed the app. Shouldn't that be on by default?

Just looked through the preferences. Don't see anything related to location of SVQs. Can someone advise?

they go in the .makemkv folder in your user directory.

No, I know where they go. I'm referring to the setting to allow them to auto download when needed. I don't see that setting in the most logical locaiton - Preferences.

Newbie here, long time lurker. I'm struggling with this error more and more nowadays. I thought it was my BD drive, but it works fine on so many other BD's. All discs are new with no scratches or smudges, so cleaning them isn't any issue (even though I've tried that too). I have several versions of makemkv (v.1.5.1 thru v.1.7.4) and none seem to work with an uninstall/reinstall. I've also dropped in the generic dsall.svq to the .MakeMKV folder. Changed the preference settings from 5 retry count to 15. And allow contacting web server for updates is also checked. None seem to help. The last two problems BD's have been the Big Lebowski and Psycho. It's about 30 minutes into the ripping process that I get the error. Any ideas on this? If I pop in Back to the Future BD, it will work just fine. I've run out of ideas. Thanks.

This is not a MakeMKV issue.

This is not a copy protection issue.

This is a hardware issue. Your drive can not read the disc.

The most likely explanation is that the disc is dirty / damaged / poorly manufactured.

You may wish to try cleaning the disc, if that doesn't work then return it for a new one.

I wonder if it's time to upgrade by BD-ROM drive. Since the discs are brand new and clean as can be, and my BD rips work about 90% of the time, I'm puzzled. Any recommended drives out there? Thanks.

Your drive might be failing if this is happening a lot, but just because you can't see damage on the disc doesn't mean it isn't there.

I have an external Plextor drive and it works great. PX-B310U I think is the model number.

Just picked up a new BD-ROM only to get the same error. I guess it's the BD itself. It's a friend of mine that loaned it to me, so I can't very well ask him to go get a new one. Oh, well...moving on.
