I've been playing around with Claude, pointing it to decrypted disc images and asking it to figure out how to get the default subtitle from wherever on the disc it has to.

It seems like it has to decompile .jar file(s) to do so, but it's been 100% accurate so far in what I've thrown at it.

I don't know exactly how MMKV has been working with Java to get "MainFeature", etc., but maybe it can figure out how to get the default subtitle from the disc and set the MKV's subtitle track? Related, I found that for some discs where MMKV doesn't show "MainFeature", Claude was able to get those titles. Not sure if it's something on my setup or not, but I do see those titles for some discs, not all.

Interesting approach. Claude seems to be doing a good job identifying the default subtitle by analyzing and decompiling the disc files. It would be especially useful if this could be integrated directly into MMKV so the correct subtitle is selected automatically.

Have you tested whether the results are consistent across different disc formats or only with specific titles?

I tried with several discs and they all worked. I need to test it with more.

It uses a python script at the moment to read the disc, download the few files it needs, and then works on them. It does NOT re-download the streams, in fact is makes a point to stop when the stream downloading starts.

But it's 100% accurate right now. I'll run it through some more tests with discs from different studios and see what comes of it.
