GET CARTER 4K

Just picked up Get Carter 4k.
it plays fine on my 4k blu ray player but I get the "no disc inserted" message when using makemkv.
The disc spins for 20-30 seconds then the error message.
I've ripped hundreds of 4k's and I think this is the first time I've had this particular issue reading a disc.
I've tried power cycling my blu ray drive and restarting makemkv but to no avail.
I'm running the latest version 1.18.2
Any suggestions?

Try gently cleaning the disc. I like to use liquid dish soap and warm water.
Here's a more detailed post I've made on this topic:

Thanks
I cleaned it carefully but still no joy
After spinning and trying to read, it stops and ejects the disc from the blu ray drive
I've never had that happen before

I am getting this exact thing with my BFI Get Carter UHD. Windows is unable to read the disk and it gets ejected.
I have tried it in my PIONEER BDR-BDS7 and on a MAC with a PIONEER BDR-US04.
The disk plays fine in my console.
Has anyone been able to get this disk to work?

There's an entry in KEYDB.cfg for a recent "Get Carter" disk:
Code: Select all
0x28B20939259AAC0ED9A2D903861F5BC50CB1C6F5 = Get Carter UHD (Get Carter - 4K UHD) | D | 2025-07-30 | ...
It's obviously impossible for you to confirm that this matches your disk unless your drive can read it first, but it suggests that
someone may have succeeded.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm guessing that is the Warner Bros US disk? I have the UK BFI disk with the exact same issue as the OP.
It could be a drive issue as both the drives I have tried it on are Pioneer.
Has anyone successfully managed to read the BFI disk? If so, what drive did you use?

Hmm, maybe. The only UHD versions of "Get Carter" in KEYDB.cfg are dated "2022-06-09" and "2025-07-30" respectively. Does either of these sound like it might be yours?

Out of interest, is that BDR-BDS7 drive cross-flashed for UHD support? I am wondering if this could be some kind of rare edge-case where a drive which
naturally supports UHD (e.g. a BU40N) would work better?
Also, I'm unfamiliar with a BDR-US04 drive. Do you mean a BDR-
UD04?
