Me too - no problems ripping a backup to my Mac hard drive, but unable to play once ripped, or extract audio

I can't get makemkv to open the disc at all. Says "This disc uses newer version of AACS protection." and ultimately "Failed to open disc."

A little followup here: I copied all the files on the blu-ray to a local disk, and then ran makeMKV on the BDMV file. This actually worked. It's obviously an extra step, but good to know it's possible to get it to work.

But now the MKV files are sitting on my NAS and the lovely Atmos audio plays great.
