Hello all Finally got the right drive to do ripping of UHD and even playing under Mac but got corruption from the mkv. BU40N Ultra Slim 9.5mm UHD 4K Blu-ray SATA 3.0 GB/s Optical Drive for PC is my drive. They have it at Amazon. I had to Flash it. BTW I went through two of uhd drive the thrid one is fantastic. After I flash it I was able to play UHD with VLC under Mac os with modification for vlc. So yes I'm able to play directly from the UHD disk. But ripping using makemkv and then playing the file i get this. Here are screen shots of firmware also a link of the drive i bought it from so people can buy from it. And a video of what it look when playing the mkv video. Hopefully someone can help me. Ty

So you created an .mkv file from the movie and that's the result? For the whole file or just parts? And is that only with that disc or with every disc?
Something is definitely wrong, I don't think I've encountered that myself.

How did you do the firmware update? I recently picked up the same drive and am having issues getting it to patch. My drive has current firmware version 1.02. Any assistance you can provide is appreciated.

I downloaded the firmware that was recommended through one of the thread I started I think. I didn't use my mac but I used a headless laptop. It was running Windows 11. But if you read more of how to you can do it. Just go with the how to from this forum.

Just to be clear. You patched the firmware on the drive using a PC laptop and now it will work on your mac?
