4.3 to widscreen
im trying to record a disc which is in 4.3 but it comes out in widescreen any help please
Re: 4.3 to widscreen
Knowing what you're trying to do would help. MakeMKV doesn't "record" disks; are you trying to rip a disk that is 4:3? It is possible that the disk was stored as 4.3 but was recorded in a format that allows wider display.

Re: 4.3 to widscreen
Aspect ratio is something that I sometimes struggle with. I edited a TV programme this morning that presented itself as 4:3 on my editor but using a different program to playback in order to check the output it displayed as 16:9. I had to adjust the editor settings to correct this.
MakeMKV just rips to a file and doesn't change settings.
If you are trying to author a DVD then perhaps the program you are using has some settings that can be adjusted but any queries would be aimed at other users of that program.
That said if you are playing it back through a TV the first thing to do is to check the tv settings. Some tvs will default to a 16:9 aspect ratio but wil offer a "original aspect ratio" setting too. This could resolve the situation.
