Brand New LG drive only reads one UHD disc then sleep error

#1 Post by kril89 » Fri Oct 27, 2023 5:05 pm

So I bought a LG Electronics WH14NS40 and flashed it to to the WH16NS60 1.02 firmware. It worked well for like 5-6 UHD movies and now it doesn't. If I leave the PC off for a few hours and open up MakeMKV it will rip one movie but not one more. Sometimes if I flash a new firmware it fixes it for one movie but then it dies. I don't know if i'm doing something wrong or I just got a dud of a drive.

only advice i can give is shutdown for 5 mins with power pulled to drive and see if that fixes it
and the usual clean the discs with a damp lint free microfiber cloth and dry with another

The weird thing is that when I leave it off overnight the first disc works just fine. But all of the ones later won’t work. Unless I leave the computer off for hours at a time. The only thing I haven’t tried is a different PC.
