Skipping Files on my DVD or ISO

#1 Post by popfizz » Tue May 09, 2023 1:08 pm

I am trying to convert files from my DVD's that were created from my pretty old Toshiba DVD recorder on DVD-R discs
The videos are different aspect ratios and sizes. Many of the DVD's have 80 or 90 titles or files, but the makemkv program only rips 30 or so skipping over many files. I've tried other programs like Winx and Wonderfox, and they can see all the VOB files, however they only convert on file at a time, no batch conversions. Could there be an issue with the file system on these DVD -R discs? I've tried opening the disc manually however I don't see the function. Only click on open file which opens it. Is this using manual opening mode? I also keep getting this error "Calculated BUP offset for VTS #0 does not match one in IFO header."

Below is the data from after makemkv scanned my disc.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Code: Select all

MakeMKV v1.17.3 win(x64-release) started

Maybe another DVD opening mode might help: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=28541

Thanks for the link.

I tried to open manually but the option was not available.

All these settings....its confusing.

As I said. All the titles came up in other programs, but there were issues with ripping them so there is something unique or odd about the file structure of these DVD's

Appreciate the link

Tried all modes all added the same amount of titles as auto

I was kind of glad only cause I don't want to have to re convert 100 DVD's to get every file.

But I would like to get every file. I may just have to use another program to find out the files that were missed. Does the fact that ALL files show up with other programs....like Winx and Wonderfox give any insight into the problem that Makemkv has with these DVD's? But even with those I have to convert them one at a time so something is still unique about these discs. But at least I will be able to get all the files converted.....I think.
