Bought a used WH16NS60

I just bought an WH16NS60 used and flashed it before I tested it. I've tried several different firmwares, 1.00-1.03, encoded and unencoded and cross-flashed it to ASUS and all of them can't read any kind of disc I put in. Did I get sold a bum drive, or did I somehow blow the flashing?

Also, is the referenced sdf.bin used on Linux makemkvcon good for any drive? I'm reading elsewhere that I should have backed up the firmware and used the sdf from that instead.

Return it. Most likely a dead laser.
