Hope I'm posting in the right place.
I just used the SDF Tool Flasher to downgrade the 1.01 Firmware that came on this drive to the DE_LG_BU40N_1.00.bin firmware from the DE Firmware pack.
It seemed to run smoothly and the Flasher said it was successful.
When I go to Disk Management in Windows 10 and check under Hardware ID it still shows the drive as 1.01.
Did the flash work OK or am I missing something ?
Thanks

Thanks so much for responding.
Update - I flashed to 1.00, then rebooted my PC. I checked Disk Management and it said 1.01.
I shut down my PC overnight, and when I re-checked this morning , Disk Management now reads 1.00.
Guess it's a Windows thing.

I'd guess the cold boot cycle is what did the trick. Rebooting your machine generally won't restart the tiny computer inside your optical drive. Powering off the machine, however, will power off the optical drive. When it powers on again, the drive boots up from the drive's firmware.

This confirms/justifies my compulsion/need to turn my computer completely off after modifying hardware connected via PCIe, SATA, and USB.

For USB connected drives, just unplug the USB cable plug(s) from PC (or pull the plug from the back of the drive) for a few seconds after flashing. This does the trick. No need to reboot PC.
Cheers
