BU40N Firmware version PRO4
I just bought a BU40N external drive. I've read the main threads regarding downgrading the firmware but I cannot seem to find the appropriate version for my drive:
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BU40N
Revision: PR04
Serial number: 904HS011039
Firmware date: 2118-12-24 16:04
Bus encryption flags: 1F
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
I cannot find any references on this forum referencing PRO4, any suggestions are welcome.
Many Thanks!

Re: BU40N Firmware version PRO4
I've tried downgrading to 1.03mk using SDFtool but I get the same error code: 0x8f052400 . I've attempted all of the variations of the firmware for BU40N but none have worked.
Note that I am using a Windows 10 VM to attempt the downgrade; the drive was also bought in China so I believe I'm looking at different firmware.

Re: BU40N Firmware version PRO4
Ok, so I had an IT guy at work help me out and set it up on a Windows desktop. Tried it first via USB connection, then via SATA. Still the same error code: 0x8f052400.

Re: BU40N Firmware version PRO4
I live in China, the cost of customs would be prohibitive.
Re: BU40N Firmware version PRO4
Try the ASUS modified flasher instead of SDFTool.
Re: BU40N Firmware version PRO4
What he said. I had the same issue as you using the SDFTool. I used the Asus modified flasher in Administrator mode and it flashed my new BU40N with 1.01 firmware to HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934 firmware and it rips 4K just fine
