Does Integration Circumvent Region-locking, or Just Encryption?

I was under the impression it did both, but I keep getting "region mismatch" messages in VLC.

Yeah, VLC still gripes if the region code doesn't match, but with Makemkv as the AACS driver you can get around it without changing the code in your drive. In VLC go to tools->preferences and select show settings all at the bottom. On the scrollable list of options on the left select Input Codecs->Access Modules->Blu Ray and then set Region Code to match whatever disc you're playing.
