Midway question

#1 Post by charlie62 » Tue Mar 10, 2020 11:37 pm

I have the UK version and it has the protection that makes makemkv choose the wrong file. Looking thru the US version it also has a file no.504 and the mts numbers are the same, the only difference is the last numbers on mine are t.90 whereas the US version is t.98. Does the last numbers being different mean it is a different file and a wrong one. Thanks

It's not really possible for us to know. What does MakeMKV show as the sequence when you look at title 504? We could compare it to the US version and see if it's the same but even that's no guarantee.

The UK sequence for 504 is the same as the US disc up to the last one one being 90 the other being 98. Thanks

I'm having the same issue. I think it is most likely to be 504, because the segment map is the same, it's just the filename that is different. Here is the detail on the US disc from the other thread:

Title information
Name: Midway (English)
Source file name: 00504.mpls
Duration: 2:18:25
Chapters count: 16
Size: 74.5 GB
Segment count: 1
Segment map: (502,501,503,500,506,507,505)
File name: Midway_t98.mkv

...and here is what I'm getting from the UK disc:

Title information
Name: Midway
Source file name: 00504.mpls
Duration: 2:18:25
Chapters count: 16
Size: 74.5 GB
Segment count: 1
Segment map: (502,501,503,500,506,507,505)
File name: Midway_t90.mkv

Thanks. How do you get that information from the disc?

Another product provides BDInfo output to text files. It was the first to support these UHD screen pass discs.

I'm now getting a different file no.373 on the UK version of Midway. The one I used before was file no.504 which seemed to be ok although I haven't watched it all. Thanks

I bought the Best Buy version of Midway and am unable to find the correct file for the Blu-Ray disk. There are 200 copies of it. Can anyone tell me how to find which one is the correct one?

I haven't attempted to rip my disc yet. Is 504 now confirmed as the correct title for the UK version?

Has this been confirmed yet?

I ripped the 504 playlist from my UK copy before work and had a quick flick through the .mkv once it had finished but in my opinion it looked like the scenes weren’t in the correct order.

The segments matched those from the US 504 playlist but it didn’t look right to me.

So 504 on the US disc is the correct one?

Title information
Name: Midway (English)
Comment: FPL_MainFeature
Source file name: 00539.mpls
Duration: 2:18:24
Chapters count: 16
Size: 36.3 GB
Segment count: 10
Segment map: 504,510,501,507,502,505,506,509,503,508
File name: Midway-FPL_MainFeature_t09.mkv

That's what it is for me… that's the blu-ray disc bundled with the US UHD release.
