Ford vs Ferrari Errors.

#1 Post by Mondays » Fri Feb 14, 2020 7:07 pm

Brand new disc. Getting 100s these errors, the fail. I tested other discs that I have ripped before and MKV works fine with them so I believe my BD drive is fine.

Anyone else having trouble with this disc? Maybe download of the files from hkdatastore.tk is not working? I am thinking that discs already ripped have the downloaded de-encryption files so they work.

I had no problem with Ford v Ferrari Blu-Ray. Probably a bad disc.

Any chance that my computer is blocking the de-encryption files for the disk that MakeMKV pulls before ripping a disk? It used to pull from hkdatastore.tk or maybe hkdata.fairuse.org I set up an exception in firewall for makemkv downloads in malwarebytes

No, if there a an decryption problem you see complete other errors. Your error says, that the stream file 02886.m2ts has a problem. Maybe the debug log (see my signature) gives more hints.
Good Luck :)

I exchanged for a new disk. Same errors.

Contacted Square trade and they are sending me out a $70 check.

The only thing I ever use a DVD for is nowadays is with Makemkv. They seem to crap out after ~2years so a $2.78 4 year warranty purchase is well worth it.

Type of coverage:
4 years Coverage
starts: 10/25/2018
Coverage ends: 10/25/2022
Care Plan Price: $2.78
Purchase Date: 10/20/2018
Purchased for: $2.78

Replacing an LG LG Electronics Blu-ray DVD Writer (UH12NS40)

with an ASUS BW-16D1HT

Ford vs Ferrari ripped no problem.

Something about MakeMKV must be hard on DVDs because I get 1 to 3 years out of them before they start throwing errors on rips. I think this is my 5th one over 10 years.
