Gladiator 4K UHD

#1 Post by djackson539 » Tue Aug 27, 2019 10:39 pm

I bought this title a few weeks ago, found that MakeMKV didn't know the volume key, submitted the AACS dump to svq@makemkv.com (twice), and still no luck. I've ripped a few dozen discs so far and this is the only one that's been a problem.

Read all of the advise in this similar thread:

And see if that helps.

Well, with no further action on my part, I tried it again today and at long last it's decoding with the latest HK file. Interestingly, this disc has a much more complex structure than any of the others I've copied, with many titles and extensive seamless branching. I wonder if the long delay in the key's availability is related to this. In any case, thanks.

Hi, im new here and trying to figure out how to fix some ripping issues with 4k and hoping some experts can weigh in. I am using an ASUS drive that has been successful with multiple 4k rips, however, yesterday, Avengers Endgame failed and today i tried ripping Gladiator and it failed to rip with following errors:

MakeMKV v1.14.4 win(x64-release) started
The new version 1.14.7 is available for download at http://www.makemkv.com/download/
Using direct disc access mode
Using LibreDrive mode (v05 id=96929CF53B04)
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.

Typically a good idea to install the latest version & retry. If it still fails, repost the log.

I'd recommend giving the disc a good cleaning.

Replace the disc?

"The ONLY reason for this error is inability of the drive to read the data from the disc. This is caused by a damaged disc, failing drive, or both. The error comes from the drive before MakeMKV has an opportunity to look at the data. Nothing else can cause this error - no protection, no software issue - only physical disc or drive damage."

Turns out it was a defective disc. Opened a new one and it worked on the first try. I will try this with Endgame as well, Thanks!

Given the 2 options, disc or drive, the less expensive of the 2 seemed the wisest choice to try. Good luck with Endgame.
