Can someone give me a quick rundown on decrypting 4k UHD?

#1 Post by PRAGMA » Wed Apr 10, 2019 2:15 pm

I have:
Pioneer BDR-XD05TB (Doesnt load 4k discs at all)
and
Archgon Style 4k (Loads 4k discs, HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N - Seems to be a rip off LG chinese clone)

It wont decrypt 4k on the Archgon one giving me bus decryption errors.
I googled and saw that its not "UHD Friendly", but what is?

I believe this one is?
Asus BW-16D1H-U PRO External (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00Z1LXAJG)
or is it different from "ASUS BW-16D1HT-PRO"

Basically what do I need to get and do from here.

Archgon Style bHL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N

use the LG Patched Flasher and Flash the MK BU40N Firmware!

a 10 second search would tell you that!

Archgon is a OEM who takes a HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N and puts it into an external USB 3.0 enclosure. The drive they use is an official one. It doesn't say LG because nowadays it's much cheaper for companies to manufacture a drive together and just brand it differently. HL-DT-ST stands for Hitachi-LG Data Storage.
