Rocketeer – Disney Blu-Ray

Hi there,

I have trouble opening Rocketeer, a Disney Blu-Ray.

Protection: AACS v31

The error messages:

"MEDIUM ERROR:UNRECOVERED READ ERROR' occurred while issuing SCSI command AD010 … to device"
"Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST: COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - AUTHENTICATION FAILURE"
"Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST: COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT ESTABLISHED"

"Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host vertificate is revoked by your drive."

How can I get around this?
Buy a better optical drive?
Any special recommendations or tips?

In the majority of cases like this (movie with an old version of AACS, 66 is current), the error you're receiving is due to a problem reading the beginning of the disk, where the AACS information is stored. Cleaning the disk fixes it in most cases.

Wiping this one completely clean acutally helped, it still had one read error before it could open the disc.
Will try again with another disc, also with an older AACS version.

I read through the other topic, but most people have problems during the process and not at the beginning, while opening the disc.
