Hi,
I inserted a BD-Java disk and got a message that the JRE is not available. This is just an FYI that "http://www.makemkv.com/bdjava/" currently gives a 404 error. I know BD-Java is a new feature and that the link will basically say to install the JRE...so I'm just passing this along so you can add some content to that URL.

I got the JRE message yesterday when trying to back up the Hail! Caesar Blu-Ray. The software never got past it and I gave up. Is there something I could have done to get it going? I ended up making a Backup copy of it saving on the hard drive. Am curious if I can rip the backup with a new version of MakeMKV or maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

By chance I just got this too, and like you found the URL leads to a 404.
But in my case the actual rip seems to be progressing normally anyway. So the reason I was going to look at that URL was to see if it would tell me what it's actually needed for in this instance, and thus whether to actually install Java and re-rip or carry on.
Because in answer to *your* question that's probably all it needs: Install java. You don't have to install it with an activated Java browser plugin for applets, it'll just need the runtime.

I to have found a blue-ray title that requires bdjava that cannot be found. Going to rip it anyway see what happens.
(EDIT) how can a blue ray disk hold more than my big harddrive?
Strange to get a not enough room error. Saving 264 titles into directory H:/Video/John_Wick. ???
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/ ... 80261.html
Hope and a prayer it works installed cleanly anyway

FYI-I reverted back to the previous version of MakeMKV and the Blu-Ray decode to MKV went fine.

I had the same error today with "Hail Caesar!", while trying to open the disc. Hopefully a fix will be inbound soon.bysdontcry wrote:I got the JRE message yesterday when trying to back up the Hail! EDIT: I did manage to use alternate software to make a ISO file, and I am running it through handbrake now.
