Missing audio track

Post by cHrI33s »

Hi,

I'm using MakeMKV v1.8.2 for Linux

I'm trying to rip "National Security" (Region B) BluRay disc
and everything is working fine except there is one audio track missing - director's commentary for main movie.

I tried dumping 3 times, tried searching for this track in other files than main movie, tried um-muxing using MKV Extractor Gui, tried MediaInfo - this track is just not there. I'm sure this track is on disc, seen it on bluray player - it's as additional track to main movie. But... it just does not getting dumped to MKV...
Oh, in settings I have minimal title lenght sent to 0.

From what I've seen on PS3 this track should be AC3 Stereo 192kbps

Is there anything I can do to provide more informations? Can somebody help? I really would want this track...

Have you looked at the properties of the individual movie track, to see what is selected? In the left window pane of the GUI, click on the "+" to expand the tracks.

Often, I've seen multiple tracks for a given language, one with higher-spec audio than another, and MakeMKV defaults to ignoring the lesser track, since it is "just the same". Guess what specs are used for commentary tracks? Lower-quality, such as stereo (or even mono), vs 5.1 or better for the main track. Although, I have one disk where the commentary was done in 5.1 audio, but the movie was only 2 channel stereo...
