There is another thread on this here. Disks 26-30 cannot be read properly by MakeMKV, due to problems with the way they're mastered. You can find it by searching for "urusei". Disks 1-25 and 31-50 are apparently OK.

But, there wasn't much data for Mike to work with to work around it, since only one person had a legal copy. Been trying to find one myself... but not willing to pay $1200 for the series.

For what it is worth, if you have a version of Handbrake that is set up to be able to read DVDs directly (the Mac version, or Windows/Linux with the proper additional libraries added), it CAN read the problem disks directly.

Netflix is the best source for OOP anime (They even have a complete collection of MI). I don't remember if Mike is in the US, but it's the cheapest way to get ahold of an actual legit disk.

I've used them previously to obtain disks when my own copies didn't read due to damage or faulty authoring.

(This is actually why I was pretty sure this UY disk was a mastering error, I actually thought the problem was with my original disk then it did the same thing for the Netflix disk that came in today)

You probably should jump in on the thread from November on these disks... The last thing posted on it was a request from Mike for log information for each of the problem disks, but the original poster did not respond.

As for Netflix, I was working my way through the series at the time, and the problem disks came up in the queue about that time. I ran some tests on a couple of them, and found that they did exhibit the behavior (files didn't complete).

I use NF a little differently - to find out if a series is worth buying. NF cost me about $3K last year, over and above the subscription costs, and not including the shelving units....

Please send this log file to support@makenkv.com - it should have additional information needed for debug. Errors like these can be worked around without the need to wait for the next version. But I do need log files first.
