Hi,
I am trying to pull my DVD collection to disk but face a real problem with my Blade uncut DVD.
Using the latest MakeMKV v1.7.10 win(x64-release)
Error message:
1. The source file '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB' is corrupt or invalid at offset 207888384, attempting to work around
2. LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input
3. Failed to save title
Disk works perfectly fine in my DVD-Player.
Already tryed it with two different PCs and DVD-Drives.
Full Debug log is attached.
Any ideas are appreciated!

Re: Blade DVD: corrupt file
"Working fine in DVD player" just means that the DVD player skipped over the bad sector. MakeMKV, though, won't, because it is trying to get an accurate copy of the files.
My first reaction to a corrupt or unreadable error is to clean the disk with Pledge furniture polish. ESPECIALLY if anyone else has handled it. Pledge and a soft non-scratching cloth fixes a lot of "relative" issues, like finger prints and small scratches, at least long enough to get a good rip.

Re: Blade DVD: corrupt file
The Source DVD is in pristine condition and not scratched at all.
This seems to be some kind of copy protection.

Re: Blade DVD: corrupt file
Means nothing. No ones eyes are good enough to see every 1 and 0 on a DVD, more importantly, even if they were, how would you know if a 1 should be a 0?Tarnover wrote:The Source DVD is in pristine condition and not scratched at all.
There's a very high chance that your disc is damaged / dirty or just poorly pressed. Blade is not a new disc and chances are it does not have a new copy protection. Just return it for a new one.
If you pick to believe that your disc has a new copy protection on it and do wish to send the files to the developers for analysis, you can do so by following the instructions here:

Re: Blade DVD: corrupt file
Looking at your log file, it is remarkably like what I saw on some disks that had "creative mastering", but Mike will have to look at them to be sure.
