LG Electronics BP60NB10 suddenly stopped working

Post by halstedmichael »

So my LG drive was ripping blu-rays just fine. Then suddenly I swapped to another disc to start and the drive just kept spinning. It was late at night so I chose to close makemkv and turn the computer off. The next day, my computer no longer recognizes the drive at all. So it's not even an issue of reading discs, it's no longer seeing it at all. And when I unplugged it to plug it back in, windows then said the USB drive malfunctioned and windows doesn't recognize drive. No idea what's caused it. Has anyone ran into this issue? Or possible solutions? Im worried about going into device manager and messing with the drives because I'm unaware if it will mess with the drive that I flashed for the Libre drive. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

So I used different usb ports on my laptop but the issue continued to occur. My laptop can recognize the drive in devices in the settings, however in device management, it states under root usb Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed). And unfortunately it is the same on another PC. However, the tray still works, led light still emits and the computer can see it. But it will not appear in devices and drives in file explorer. And Makemkv states:

Error 'OS error - {Device Timeout} The specified I/O operation on hs was not completed before the time-out period expired' occurred while issuing SCSI command 46020..00140 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom0'

I've now purchased another micro usb Y cable and the issue is the same. I'm just curious if anyone has had similar issues with this drive or others. I feel like it's a small hiccup somewhere and not detrimental but something is preventing the pc from seeing it. Hopefully it isn't the sata bridge.
