SBW-06D5H-U unable to backup a Blu-ray Disc

Post by KKKZXC_LY »

I purchased the following slim drive ( Asus SBW-06D5H-U) few weeks ago since my open Verbatim External Slimline Blu-ray Writer just not functioning anymore. I noticed a strange thing that MakeMKV keeps failed to backup my Blu-ray Disc content. It keeps showing error msg "Error 'Scsi error - BLANK CHECK:NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION' occurred while issuing SCSI command A30..00200740100720..0E6C137F14D32E8CD5CC0B81B878AF794EE to device 'IoKit:<unknown>" or "Error 'Scsi error - BLANK CHECK:NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION' occurred while issuing SCSI command A30" .

I have tried on win11(25h2) and Mac (MacOS 26.1). Both are sending me the same error msg. I have tried different Blu-ray Discs. Some of them I successfully made a copy with my old Verbatim External Slimline Blu-ray Writer before but now I unable to do a backup on my new Asus SBW-06D5H-U.
I even tried to use different cables that the new external blu-ray writer provided ( USB-A to Micro-B or USB-C to Micro-B). They are all unable to copy Blu-ray Disc.
I have tried CDs. It works. But I didn't try DvD because I don't have one.

The Blu-ray disc I tried to copy can be played, and my media player application works fine, so I'm sure the disc isn't broken.
And the disc is just FHD disc

May I ask for help here? :(

Are you trying to rip commercial blu-rays or burned discs? The label of 'BDROM' in the Disc Information section of the picture you posted caught my eye as being unusual.

I'm not certain what the error message you highlighted really means.

Most likely abad burn. Try a commercial pressed disc.
