Can no longer rip UHD discs

I'm running MakeMKV 1.18.2 on both macOS and Linux, and have been successfully ripping UHD discs, but am unable to do so any more. The only thing that has changed are the USB enclosures that the drives are in. If I put the drives back in an old enclosure, they work. The new enclosures work fine for ripping regular 1080 Blu-rays, but not UHD. The drives themselves are BU-40N with v1.04 firmware and LibreDrive enabled. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? I don't really understand why the USB-to-SATA interface would prevent UHD discs from being ripped.

For Linux you should flash BU40N 1.00
