Pioneer BDRS12UHT - Does it work out of the box

Hello all,
Trying to determine whether the Pioneer BDRS12UHT will work out of the box for UHD ripping or does it still require flashing?

Depends on when it was built/boxed. Before November 2022 operates (works) differently than after (doesn't work).
