Hi,
I need to retire my PC for a bit and need to fall back to my laptop for general use. Can I remove my desktop sized WH16NS60 and plug it into a SATA/USB adapter and then plug it in to a USB port and then use on my laptop?
I thought this was possible, then a I read a comment on the SATA adapter I was eyeing up that the optical drives just appear in Windows storage manager and aren't functional.
Any ideas?
Thanks

See this post: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide
That post is maintained and there's a section in there about USB/SATA adapters as well as enclosures. Personally, prefer my 'internal' optical drives in an enclosure, with its own power supply, that plugs in via USB. I think it looks better than a bare drive sitting on my desk, but to each their own.
