Hey guys,
I want to share my dream about a comprehensive product with you, now that MakeMKV on Raspberry Pi is a reality.
This is Brennan B2:
Its key feature is discretely ripping Audio CDs and storing these as lossless FLAC (or lossy MP3).
This specific product is (unfortunately under-)powered by a Raspberry Pi 1, holds an internal SATA SSD/HDD and also uses a slot-in DVD drive afaik.
Wouldn't it be awesome to have a similar standalone product that can digitize movie AND audio discs?
I'd imagine a GUI that lets you select desired video / subtitle / audio tracks with a TV remote (CEC) and store them on the internal disk.
What do you guys think?
Brennan B2 could propably be upgraded with a Raspberry Pi 3b+ without modifying the case.
Do slim UHD LibreDrives with slot-in exist?

Re: Standalone digitization hardware and media center
seems like a cool idea. I don't know about any currently included in Libredrive, but slot load 4k drives do exist. Best bet for libredrive would probably be Pioneer BDR-XS07UHD
