Techpulse120 HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N CA02

Post by aksnet »

Hello,
i have bought a new Techpulse120 USB 3.0 which came with Device Information: HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N CA02

I tried to flash Firmware HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934 with GUI SDF tool: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896.
The flash process seemed to work, but the mentioned Firmware in the Info Screen does not change from CA02 to 1.03 as i would expect it.

Has anyone already experience with CA02 ? Or any suggestion? I did not want to brick the device, so i stopped any action without looking for help here.

I used the SDF Tool to read the Firmware from my Drive and have attached it, if this might be helpful for the advanced Users here.

Thank you very much
Andi

You should try with "enc" and if that doesn't work with "enc" unchecked. Reboot every time. Check the firmware status with Makemkv.

Hello,
i was successful, but not with the SDF Tool. No matter if i use enc ticked or not. I says it's flashed but the drive is still on the old version. And yess i did reboot, power off the drive etc.
The ASUS_ODD_FW_Changer_(Modified).exe did the trick.
But also only by flashing to DE_LG_BU40N_1.00.bin first and then using HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934.bin

The last Question would be how i find the correct firmware from the MK Folders:
BU40N-B-Japan-Buffalo
BU40N-FR
BU40N-N-Main
BU40N-R-Tier2-Taiwan
BU40N-U-Tier2-Non-UHD

Is there any way to find out which exact drive i own?
