I know an internet connection is required with AnyDVDHD, but is an internet connection required when decrypting DVDs, Blu-rays, and 4K UHD Blu-rays with MakeMKV?

no not unless the key for the 4k disk you are ripping is not currently downloaded to the hashed key fileChris Kelly wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 4:38 amI know an internet connection is required with AnyDVDHD, but is an internet connection required when decrypting DVDs, Blu-rays, and 4K UHD Blu-rays with MakeMKV?

Hmmm ... Since MakeMKV can decrypt for playing in VLC, this might make the BU40N a nice PORTABLE PLAYBACK solution for my laptop as long as I get a SATA 3 to Type C kit. But as far as ripping, we'll continue that one at the other thread--
