Is LibMMBD integration only beneficial for blu-ray discs or does it also provide "on-the-fly" decryption for DVDs, similar to AnyDVD?
Thx
LibMMBD Integration Only for Blu-Ray Discs?
Re: LibMMBD Integration Only for Blu-Ray Discs?
dvd's are well understood. css has been broken for a long time, it can be brute forced off an iso (works mostly except for small VOBs where it sometimes doesn't have enough data) or with a key negoation if a physical disk in the drive.
so, a) libbmmbd doesn't do libdecss, just libaacs and libbdplus b) it doesn't need to as the open source solutions are good as is. the reas for libmmbd is that the open source solutions aren't good enough.

Thanks for the answer.
Can you please provide examples of open source solutions that perform "on-the-fly" decryption for DVDs, similar to AnyDVD?
Thx

Both VLC and Kodi can play DVDs directly, using their local decryption code. Videolan.org actually provides the code that most projects use from CSS decryption, and a BD decryption library that can use "known keys" lists generated by other sources.
