LG WH14NS40

LG WH14NS40

Have gone thru 2 LG WH14NS40's and Windows 10 1909 won't recognize the drive. The drive has power with lights flashing, but tray won't open and device manager shows no optical drive but does show unknown usb composite device. Drive is connected with SATA connector on drive to USB plug. Both drives are from the same Jan 2019 lot and are labeled NS50. My non-UHD friendly pioneer drive is seen just fine. Any ideas.

What USB to sata adapter are you using?
