Is Ebay a reliable platform to buy blu-ray drives from? Or some other online stores?
I hope this post finds you well. Did you end up trying ebay and getting a good drive? There can be some good things to grab there, and some shady sellers too. Read the post completely, as many sellers there are selling old used up drives, and may mark it as parts, with no "return" etc. One loser sold me a pioneer slot drive, and I was busy that week, with the funeral of a loved one, and missed the 3 day window, to where the drives eject button has to be pushed, for the drive to accept discs. Besides that, everything works fine. I got it for cheap, but still. I only use this drive as my daily burn/mkv drive, to keep my other pioneers' from being used, to extend their lifespans out. If you buy anything for a Japanese seller, who sells the pioneers from their domestic market.. many of them work in teams and share photos of auctions together, so watch out for that. They'll have similar prices, or may charge more for shipping and less on item price than the other seller, but overall costs will be the same. Make sure they ship via Fedex or DHL.. or they may ship with a cheap service, that's low budget, and takes awhile to get the item. German and Polish sellers seem to be ok, and straight forward. I have found great drives in Germany, Poland, and Japan. Many new, or open box, in excellent condition, and all Pioneers. If I were you, avoid LG, ASUS, they all fail.. See makemkv sub reddit for all that info. Also, don't by any drives from China, because most are fake pioneers. Avoid! Good luck!Jay123210599 wrote: Fri Apr 10, 2026 1:02 am Is Ebay a reliable platform to buy blu-ray drives from? Or some other online stores?
