All the Money in the World nordic

Post by HSamwel »

I'm having big problems with ripping this bluray movie.

The movie plays fine on my HT and also on my PC.
Same PC I use for MakeMKV.

MakeMKV finds the disc fine during the first check.
The I press open disc.
Everything runs fine until it starts to execute the Java file "06042.ako".
Then it looks like it tries to read or execute it for a long while.
I have stopped this twice at 12 and 14 minutes. Now I tried to let it finish.
Took over 17 minutes to finish.

If I stop java (or let it finish) MakeMKV list a lot of playslists. Several hundreds.

I have tried to install software that will tell me which playlist is used during playback.
DVDFab was the only one working in this regard. It says title 86 is the one used.
But when I check mpls 86 in MakeMKV it's a shorter version with one segment.
Says it's 1 hour and 16 minutes and 21,4GB. The movie is 2 hours and 12 minutes
and 37,3GB.

How do I find out which filelist I should pick?

Edit: Just checked. All mpls start with segment 502 except 86 which only have 500.
Is this the fake list "protection" I have seen a thread about?

I don't have that disc, so I can't say for certain. With hundreds of playlists for the movie it almost certainly is a disc with 'fake playlist' protection.

Here's a discussion about the various ways to find the right playlist: A Better Way To Find The Correct Playlist/Segment Map

Did it the hard way!

Used ProcessMonitor and followed each segment through the movie.
Then searched for matching segmentlist in MakeMKV.

Found out it was 00878.mpls for reference if anybody else stumbles on to this disk.
