Greetings,
I have heard from several people with the same version (as I have) that they have successfully ripped Twister. I tried again today and still get the same "no volume key/failed to open error". Any ideas?

There's a version of it in the keydb file. You can try that and see if it works for your version.

I am having the same issue with my newly arrived "Twister 4k"
Edit: The newest keydb file dated 7/7/2024 worked. Now my drive is ripping this disc.

i have seen this thread before about Download FindVUK 1.72. but i have stayed away from clicking on random links on the internet. what kind of file is it?

The
somewhere else link leads to the "FindVUK Online Database" web page, from where you can download a ZIP file containing the latest KEYDB.cfg. And that's just a text file.
FindVUK.exe itself is a Windows command line application which maintains your KEYDB.cfg. You don't
need FindVUK, although it does help.

Highly recommended to have FindVUK as it has a synchronize function. If you look there's instructions on modifying the bat file for synchronize to automagically copy your KEYDB.cfg file after it syncs with FindVUK to your MakeMKV data directory so it always stays up to date with the latest keys. You can see coopervid's instructions on that with this link:

I'm assuming you have downloaded the file from

Not only have I downloaded the file, I've written my own tools on top of it. Yea, it's clean and works as it claims. If you have DVDFab and a compatible drive, it'll even extract your unit keys for you. Doesn't help with MakeMKV but that's what the tool was originally designed for. KeyDB syncing is just one of the features of that amazing tool.

i have used mkv for so long. MKV and dvd fab basically do the same thing don't they, so if it is decrypted by dvd fab why would you need the key for something like vlc? Sorry if i sound stupid lol

You wouldn't necessarily. But maybe you like helping those who don't have DVDFab by uploading the unit keys to the keydb...Just like those who've uploaded keys for the title you're looking for have helped others by uploading the keys.
