Copy protection

I want to copy some movies from DVDs/Blu-rays to my NAS, but I am encountering errors, and I believe it is likely due to my copying software. I also want recommendations for reliable copying software that can handle various copy protection mechanisms. Can someone help me with this?

If you rip the movies with MakeMKV, the copy protection is gone Were you going to try this some other way?
