Several DVDs BluRay not reading

I have had several issues with various DVDs and BluRays over the past month or so. So much so I feel I can rule out the DVDs and external disc reader. I looked thru forum and tried to fail back to older versions (1.15.1) but nothing works. Has there been any review and resolution on this? Why this is occurring now? I have tried on multiple windows machines, uninstalled/reinstall app - etc.
