Extra Stuff Before/After Episodes

I'm trying to extract the episodes from the Z Nation season 2 Blu-ray (UK).

MakeMKV shows the episodes to be 10 minutes longer than HandBrake, PowerDVD, etc.

When I extract and play them, there is extra "stuff" before the intro and after the credits (again, about 10 minutes worth). The stuff before the episodes seem to be the typical A/V calibration screen you sometimes would catch on over-the-air TV, and the stuff after the credits seems to be a repeat of the start of the episode (after the intro).

I don't know if MakeMKV has a bug or if the other tools are just smart enough to ignore this extra crap. I can obviously, easily strip the crap out after I extract it. I just wanted to report it, in case it's an actual bug.

Edit: I extracted the mpls using mkvmerge, and it didn't have this issue.
