Something strange here:
I did not come across any error but Make MKV has identified 1 large file (23 gb) and another 430 files approximately with an average size of 780MB each. The estimated time is 18 hours (still running as I write this). Has anyone else experienced such a phenomenon?

Why did you want to rip the other files? For the movie itself you need only the big file and the Source File name in th right Window should show something like xxxx.MPLS (Playlist). I'm sure that the other file are only stream elements M2TS files.

In fact, I stopped MKV right after posting my message.
On checking the small files, I found they related to some interactive features necessitating access to Disc 2.
