Bladerunner 2049

Post by mfraz74 »

Ripping Bladerunner 2049 with MakeMKV 1.12 I am presented with 3 possible titles which are suffixed with angle 1,2 & 3. Any idea what are the differences between the 3 angles?

I searched for this as well and found a thread from here a while back that mentioned that multiple Title items with different 'angles' in parentheses can either be actual alternate angles or just different language variations (something like that).

For that film I just picked the first angle 1 with the complete chapters and it was fine.

I'm guessing you have one of the Sony international discs as opposed to a WB domestic disc. (Waiting for my Sony imports to arrive.)

In this case from reports on other forums, I'm fairly certain that the multiple angles - which MakeMKV lists as separate titles - are localization in different languages for the opening story text (and possibly the other "location" text that appears from time to time throughout the movie).

Yes it is the Sony one. Decided to just rip angle 1 for now.

Can anyone identify what angle 1,2 and 3 are? I also see a video version without angle written and it seems to be a few minutes shorter.
